After 19 years, Shaqzilla, Shaq-fu, Kazaam, Steel, Superman, Shaquille O'neal announced his retirement from the NBA.
According to reports from Jackie MacMullan on ESPN's "Outside The Lines" after being plagued with a troublesome achilles this last season he just isn't able to keep playing with the intensity that he usually plays at for the 40+ minutes he typically averaged per game.
Shaq walks away with these words, "We did it. Nineteen years baby," he said in the message. "I want to thank you very much, that's why I'm telling you first, I'm about to retire. Thank you, talk to you soon."
Shaq is one of the few great Jordan-era players left in the league that was still a powerhouse player.
